Connecting past and present through the “Star+ Original” seal of approval
“El Galán: TV changed, he didn’t” was one of the first original Star+ productions. It’s a black comedy that questioned the classic Mexican soap opera stereotypes. Sebastian and Humberto Zurita represented, for the first time, the same character in his past and present versions. Our biggest challenge was to bring users closer to the streaming platform, reconnecting with the audiences that lived through the Mexican TV Golden Era while touching the hearts of new generations.
Our greatest strength: the great Mexican talent
The communication strategy aimed at reviving the Golden Era of Mexican soap operas enhancing the cast’s presence within the series premiere. A week of press activities kicked off with with the Media Tour, followed by a launch event with the cast: Sara Maldonado, Patricia Reyes, Dario Ripoll, Ernesto Laguardia, Humberto and Sebastian Zurita. Finally, there was a Local Junket, that included specialties with influencers and shootings.
“El Galán” was one of the most anticipated local productions of the year and arose as one of the most endearing and ingenious comedies as well. The press activities led to a general recognition of the authenticity of the story as well as its exceptional cast. The impact resulted in 350 publications in some of the most important media outlets in Mexico, such as TV Azteca, W Radio, EXA TV, Telefórmula and Imagen TV. Thanks to the solid alliances created with content creators and online media, we touched the new generation’s hearts with a total of 421 publications on social media, highlighting Rojstar TV, Buzzfeed LATAM, and Estilo DF.
