Driven by a firm conviction to contribute and make a difference in the communication industry, 15 years ago Karina Méndez, a Communications graduate, took on the challenge of creating Kaleidoscopio
Kaleidoscopio is celebrating! We are excited to share that this May we are 13 years old, which means more than a decade of building efficient communications, supporting brilliant ideas, connecting people, growing businesses, turning events into memories, creating customized and comprehensive strategies and generating meaningful collaborations.
We celebrate those who have been and continue being part of this wonderful journey, along which we have evolved alongside the public relations.
Businesses can be seen as gray entities, lacking of a human face and personality, but that’s truly false. Companies are moved by people with dreams, goals, values, effort and enthusiasm. Public relations, marketing and communication are responsible for transmitting that human aspect of businesses.
In these years channels have diversified and the digital presence grown, which translates into an impressive speed of information circulating. We talk about everything and too much, that’s true. Therefore, it’s important that before starting to communicate, companies have a well defined corporate identity, its values, and objectives, in order to make the message truly reflect the uniqueness of a company.
The challenges for public relations in 2022 demand that all areas of communication join forces to create cohesive strategies. The COVID-19 pandemic made clearer the importance of an effective public relations strategy and showed us that there is no limit to communication. Today, the most important thing is to humanize the digital world and optimize what has been traditional.
Relying on professionals in this area is essential to gain optimal exposure. The experience of professional teams such as Kaleidoscopio is reflected in unified and customized strategies, where the objectives of the brand and the spokespeople are the same.
Our team shares
One of the projects I enjoyed the most was the release of the Disney+ The Beatles: Get Back!, as it involved many challenges during the months of campaign, but in the end we had a great result. We identified three audience groups, so we proposed different strategies for each one of them. We made an extensive research on media specialized in music, some of them focused only on The Beatles. I also enjoyed managing an interview between Reforma newspaper and the biggest Beatles collector in Mexico, which we had the opportunity to visit to show us his valuable collection. I am proud of the team spirit in Kaleidoscopio, and of his great companionship.
Working at Kaleidoscopio helped me discover that I am capable of carrying out the challenges and activities that the agency entrusts to us; I’ve also learnt better strategies for teamwork. I am proud of our collaborative work and of my personal and professional growth inside and outside of the agency.
What I like most about my work is creating the monthly action plan with the Kaleido-Acorn TV team. It’s 100% teamwork and I really enjoy it. I love brainstorming and how we make those ideas come true. Moreover, the work among internal collaborators is always recognized and applauded. You feel valued and you are constantly learning. I’m proud of everything that has driven me to grow this year. I’m excited to see what’s next!
I am proud to belong to a company like Kaleidoscopio, which cares about the wellbeing of its team. I am also proud of my growing confidence, but above all I am grateful to have the opportunity to improve my abilities, little by little. I appreciate being constantly considered to be part of several work teams, each of them as diverse as the topics handled in Kaleidoscopio.
I am very proud of the teamwork done with my first colleagues, who shared much of their knowledge and experience with me. What I enjoy most is to translate my ideas into projects. For example, one of the biggest challenges I faced in Kaleidoscopio was the presentation of the Mexican cyclist Luis Villalobos as part of the professional team EF Pro Cycling, part of EF Education First.
Kaleidoscopio stands out for its impeccable customer support and for supporting its employees when they face difficult times outside the workplace. In my every day work I enjoy making my ideas come true and dealing with the media.
What I enjoy most about my work is brainstorming as a team to create a creative concept. One of the projects that most challenged me was creating a brand voice that was consistent with the global identity of Acorn TV, but that also feels organic, fun, and natural for the Latin American market. This involved reviewing, unifying, and ensuring that it was transmitted in all areas of communication: public relations, social media, customer service and marketing.
What I appreciate most of my everyday experience in Kaleidoscopio is teamwork, perseverance and attention to detail. I think the team is in constant synergy. The young talent, together with the experience of those who founded the agency, make us a very professional team. I have gained a lot of experience from my team and now I know that I can face bigger challenges.
One of the projects that most challenged me and that I enjoyed most was Moon Knight. We had to investigate a lot about a little-known character to position it into the audiences’ mind, but, in the end, it exceeded everyone’s expectations. It was a pleasure to participate in this project. Kaleidoscopio is best known for its customized boutique-like service; we create plans along with our clients, we don’t just receive a memo to perform it. We work hand in hand to achieve the result visualized by our clients and we deliver. This is what builds up the good relationships that we have with our clients.
Long live Kaleidoscopio!
